I am a Master's student in Chemical Engineering, with a specialization in Science, Society, and Policy, at the University of Ottawa.
My research focuses on recycling phosphorus from wastewater - both the applied science behind novel crystallization methods of a useful phosphorus product, as well as the policy considerations that would enable the conditions needed to implement such technology.
I realized early on in my studies that regardless of whether or not I was successful in proving my theorized crystallization method, action has to be taken to improve Canada's phosphorus recycling - hence the specialization in policy. The reasons why are complicated - but I would love to explain them if you are willing to listen!
