Jen Collette is the Director, S&T Policy, S&T Branch at Environment and Climate Change Canada.  She joined the department in April 2013, following 10-years of service at Health Canada.  In addition to her science policy experience, she has a diverse range of experience in regulatory policy dealing with health products such as pharmaceuticals, biologics, controlled substances and pesticides.  Jen is a 2010 graduate of the Health Canada Science Management Development Program, which aims to instill executive-level competencies in promising science-trained managers.  Prior to joining the public service in 2004, Jen held numerous and progressively more responsible positions at a private sector clinical research organization working on the development of both traditional pharmaceuticals and biologic products across various therapeutic areas and many jurisdictions.  She managed teams across three North American locations (Ottawa, Victoria and San Diego).  Jen’s post-secondary education with the University of Ottawa included concurrent completion of a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry (Honours Program) and a Bachelor’s of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering.
